A fast-turnaround branding and motion project that transformed a bold client concept into a reusable campaign system built for social impact and high-engagement motion formats.

Framing the Challenge

Objective

LUX Carnival approached me with the theme name “ARTOPIA,” a tagline, and an AI-generated portrait they wanted incorporated into the campaign identity for the 2026 Toronto Caribbean Carnival. My role was to develop a cohesive brand direction, logo, and motion identity that would feel cinematic, expressive, and adaptable across campaign assets.

From Reference to Campaign System

Asset Provided

The client provided an AI-generated portrait as a conceptual starting point. My challenge was to enhance and adapt it for campaign use — expanding canvas space, adding depth, and transforming the artwork into a flexible visual system suitable for motion and branding.

Enhancements & Modifications

  • Extended composition for motion framing

  • Color & contrast refinements in Photoshop

  • Added environmental depth & texture

  • Prepared layered assets for animation

Image Deconstruction

To create dynamic motion while preserving the integrity of the artwork, I deconstructed the image into three core elements: the subject, the frame, and the background. This approach allowed for layered parallax motion and cinematic depth without disrupting the visual narrative.

Design Toolkit:

Motion Identity: Looping Animation

10 Sec Animation

Used AI tools and detailed prompt engineering to develop a 10-second animation from the static image.

30 Sec Loop

Used Adobe Premiere to edit the animation, creating a longer cinematic loop for high-attention environments such as TikTok and Instagram Reels. The loop begins and ends on the same visual frame, creating an uninterrupted viewing cycle.

Variation was developed for campaign storytelling and digital displays. Subtle motion, atmospheric effects, and layered depth effectively reinforce the surreal concept of “culture becomes art.”

Both versions were optimized in 16:9 and 9:16 formats to support platform-specific publishing and maximize reuse across channels.
